Question: Is doxycycline hyclate (acne medicine) attributed to hair loss?

I've been taking this medicine and noticed tons of hair loss cause before o didn't lose hair, in general can acne medication be attributed to hair loss?

Hair loss is not a known side effect of Doxycycline hyclate. Some strong medications used to treat severe acne such as isotretinoin have been known to cause more side effects including hair loss, headache, nausea, frail skin and vomiting. Everybody can react differently to certain medications. If you are concerned that your medication is effecting your health then you should consult your doctor, especially if you are experiencing rapid hair loss. Your doctor can then, hopefully, prescribe a more suitable treatment.

The best advice would be to schedule a doctor's appointment and check to see if you have any hormonal imbalance problems right now, since most hair loss is genetic in nature and caused by oversensitivity to DHT unless instigated by outside agents, i.e. acne medicine?
