What to do about hair loss?
I recently stopped taking my birth control about 2 months ago , and I am noticing some side effects but only one is really scarring me. I am losing my hair, and I mean a lot of it. I have read that changes in estrogen can cause hair loss, but i have had friends, and my husband, notice and comment on how it is starting to look bad.Is there something I can do to prevent this??

For the past month I've been loosing a lot of hair, and in the past few days it's gotten a lot worse. I run my fingers through my hair and come out with around 10 hairs. My mom is refusing to take me to the doctor because she's all like " It's not a big deal, you're just going through hormonal changes blah blah" However I know that it is a big deal, I'm loosing way more hair than I should be through out the day. Because she is refusing to take me to the doctor for it until I'm balding, I'm not really sure what to do. I'm a 14 year old girl, so yes, my body is probably having weird hormones, but could this really be causing my hair loss that keeps getting worse?
Should i take biotin 5,000 mcg eventhough i'm not experiencing hair loss but i do want my hair to be thicker?

Female hair loss... due to stress?
I saw my primary care physician and brought up my recent hair loss concern. I have been losing more than the average 50 100 hairs per day. I am losing 100 from brushing alone Not to mention shampooing, conditioning, and drying. He tested my thyroid and everything came back normal. I am starting to get worried. Just running my hands through my hair and I will get 3 6 hairs almost every time. I am wondering if I should go see my dermatologist my doctor's recommendation . However, I am 85 % sure that the hair loss is due to stress job, ending of a relationship and possibly from my sudden stop of oral contraceptives. About 5 years ago, I lost about 2 3 of my hair. I went to a derm and she said it was stress and suggested I start Rogaine for women. It took 2 years for my hair to start looking normal again... which is why I'm so paranoid and concerned now. I would be devastated if that happened to me again. It was the hardest time of my life. Do I save myself the trip and money to see the dermatologist? Or should I go as a precaution? I would hate to hear the same thing that it's stress and it will stop on its own.Does anyone know of any products that truly work to combat hair loss? Any advice would be really appreciated.

About my 24 year old husband's random hair loss?
My husband is 24 years old, he has a family history of male pattern baldness.. we expected his hair to come out, probably even early.. however we did not expect him to have normal hair one day and 2 days later have large bald spot on the top of his head.. it looks like someone took a razor to one section of hair. It is surrounded by lots of normal hair, like there's no fade whatsoever. I touched it and it even feels like it was shaved, like there is still hair there, feels like buzzed hair. It definitely was NOT shaved, so we are kinda freaked out. Someone tell me this is normal..
Why do some medications cause hair loss?
I m taking Asacol, medication from UC, for two month. Recently my hair started to fall out a lot. I suspect it is from the medication. I want to know why some medications can cause hair loss. Do they wash out some important elements or something else? Also is there any way to prevent his?
Hair loss after gastric bypass...will it grow back?.?
I had gastric bypass nine months ago with great success and no complications until now. My hair started thinning about eight weeks ago with no signs as of yet of slowing down. I was very much aware that this is a side effect of the surgery, but I didn't realize it could be this bad. I do not have bald spots 'yet' anyway, but it is very noticeably thinner. My blood work to date has been normal, and I'm due new blood work this week. I have had my hair cut up to my shoulders with layers to try and make it look fuller but not much luck. I would just like to know of anyone who has been through this, and what was the outcome. How long will the hair loss continue, and will it grow back. I tried biotin but it made me itch severely. I take my supplements faithfully and eat very healthy which includes a lot of protein. I have lost 130 lbs to date with 15 more to go. I read about silica complex available through Puritans Pride, has anyone had any experience with this product, and does it work?. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
